Those are the six reference levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) from the CECR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages):

B1 NIVEAU SEUIL – TRESHOLD LEVEL: I can follow a conversation without big troubles and understand most of the news, films. I can give my opinion, and cope in unpredicted situations.
B2 NIVEAU AVANCE – ADVANCED LEVEL: I can defend a point of view, present arguments, and negociate. I can understand speeches, the news, and movies in French.
